Do I have to wear lingerie or get naked?
Is Hair & Makeup included?
Do you photoshop my images?
1. Do I have to share my images online?
This is one of the top 12 frequently asked questions about boudoir photography. No, you do not! Every body that you see on my website and social media I have been graciously allowed to share with written consent from each individual. I am always excited and happy to share the art we have created together, as I believe art is meant to be seen! But I also respect your privacy and choice to keep your images private. When you return to the studio for your in person image reveal and ordering appointment (approx 2 weeks after your session) we will sit down together and go over your images one by one and you can hand select which specific images you are comfortable sharing. Alternatively you can choose to keep them all private. This is 100% your choice!
2. Do I have to wear lingerie or get naked?
That is entirely up to you! You do not have to wear specific lingerie and while I always encourage you to bare it all during a session you are not required to by any means. Communication, trust, and comfort are key so you will always have the final say. Head over to this blog post about choosing outfits for more ideas!
3. The people on your website all look like models. I am not "model material"... can I do this?!
I'll take that as a compliment. The majority of the people on my website are just like you! They all had the same concern before their session, and, well... look at them! I am here to direct you and help you pose. Relax, I got you! The best thing you can do is to get outta your own way. Let go of your inhibitions and trust the process.
4. Is Hair & Makeup included?
Yes! The wonderfully talented Missy of MISMACK Clean Cosmetics will be on site to pamper you and give you a nice "polish" before we begin your intimate portrait session. We can help you complete your look, whether that’s “I just woke up like this” or full on glam! The choice is yours.

5. Where should I buy outfits?
There are a few places to buy outfits from and it depends on what you are getting and the style of your shoot! Here is a list to choose from with different style and sizing! My first choice is female owned and operated ForeverYoursLingerie in Langley, BC. They have an amazing selection from petite to plus, catering to a multitude of body types and sizes. It's the only place I can find a good quality bra that fits me perfectly! They have a great website to order from as well!
Some other options are Victoria’s Secret, Forever21, Adoreme, Torrid, La Vie En Rose, LaZenza, Hips and Curves.
If you are looking for something specific that you can’t find, let me know and I might know where to get it! Also don't forget to raid your own closet - you may have some awesome finds in there you didn't even consider!
Once you book in for your session we will also send you a WHAT TO WEAR guide to help!
6. How do I prepare for my session?
Don't stress - I got you! I have curated a series of emails that you will receive leading up to your session to help you prepare! Some quick tips though are to start stretching, stay hydrated, moisturize and wear sunscreen! These are good rules to live by day to day, regardless of coming in for a photo session.
7. What type of Print Products do you offer?
Heirloom albums, hand crafted right here in Canada, archival quality matted prints to metal estate art. I am so proud to offer only the finest, quality Canadian products. Check out the blog post on Print Products here for more info!
8. Do you photoshop my images?
Yes, to a degree. Some are are simple like color correction, exposure, color toning. When it comes to skin retouching, I remove blemishes and bruises, things that are not permanent parts of your body. We will have a conversation before your session begins about the level of retouching you are comfortable with on your images specifically in regards to stretch marks, cellulite and scars. Everyone is on their own journey and I try to be mindful and respectful of it. Rest assured, I will keep you looking like you!
9. How many outfits should I bring?
We usually have time to photograph 3 outfits plus a nude set. I always encourage you to bring multiple options so we can both go through them the day of to find what will work best and I love layers!
10. I’m freaking out! How can I calm my nerves?
It is 100% normal to be nervous for your session. You can help calm your nerves by making sure you are in our FB VIP GROUP. Here you can ask questions to me and past clients. Something that clients often don't realize is that most retail companies have policies in place against printing intimate photography. Even more specially if they imply what they consider sexual content, which is at their discretion, and nudity. I would like to pose another question. Even if they will print your photographs, do you feel comfortable trusting this company to keep your images safe and confidential? Are you confident they will produce quality images that will last your lifetime and beyond?
I have hand selected Canadian companies that I trust to not only produce quality products but also pride themselves on professionalism and discretion.
From start to finish, from the time you walk in the door and sit in the makeup chair until the time you walk away with your finished printed art, it is important to me that every aspect speak of trust, quality and luxury. Having tangible, timeless pieces of art that you can be proud of for years to come is paramount next to the incredible and empowering experience of an intimate portrait session.

Why I am a Boudoir Photographer
I’ve been a visual artist as long as I can remember – Drawing, painting, sculpting. Regardless of the medium, my subject matter has remained consistent. People – portraits – body scapes. So it’s no surprise then that when I decided to focus on photography as my medium that it wasn’t landscapes – it was portraits.
“Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy, and creativity. It is the source of hope, empathy, accountability, and authenticity. ” ― Brené Brown
Where I began
I’ve been a visual artist as long as I can remember - Drawing, painting, sculpting. Regardless of the medium, my subject matter has remained consistent. People - portraits - body scapes. So it’s no surprise then that when I decided to focus on photography as my medium that it wasn’t landscapes - it was portraits.
I often wish I had started down this path 20 years ago. Imagine how much further along in my career I could be! But I know I was not ready then - even then, I think I knew on some level, that I wasn’t. I had to live a life, have the experiences and challenges I did, in order to get here. And, here, is a pretty good place to be - even if at times a less challenging path would have been nice.
It’s formed me. Created the foundation on which I now build. It’s strong, resilient and weathered. (er full of character!)
What shaped me and where it lead me
In 2011 I left a toxic relationship. It damn near broke me. It’s been a slow climb out of that abyss but I’m on the other side of it now and all the better for it. This book opened my eyes to consciously confront what I had been experiencing and helped me to break the cycle. https://amzn.to/2XCW3rG
I was emboldened with this new found confidence to help other women see and value their worth and to give them back a sense of ownership and control over their own bodies, choices and lives. Listening to women share their stories with me helped solidify for me that boudoir was helping me to achieve all that and then some!
The photographs I captured, the art we created, it wasn’t “just a nude photo” You have to look beyond the surface, dig deeper, what was the intention behind the image?! It most definitely was not curated for the male gaze. In the famous words of Dita Von Teese “It’s not about seducing men, it’s about embracing womanhood”
As the years went on and I slowly healed and moved onto a much happier time in my life and I found that the intention behind my work was also evolving. Once my confidence fully returned I was able to slowly become more vulnerable in many facets of my life. Being vulnerable was something that previously scared the shit out of me.
“Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren't always comfortable, but they're never weakness.”
― Brené Brown
Constantly growing and evolving
There was a time that I viewed vulnerability as a weakness. However, I now know that being vulnerable is a brave and courageous act! I used to think asking women to get naked in front of my lens was a big ask. That is, until I started asking them to become vulnerable on an emotional level. It’s not easy! It’s not always pretty but it’s liberating and rewarding.
I also came to the realization that it isn’t just women that need this. Every body deserves this experience. I am proud to say that I run an INCLUSIVE Intimate Portrait + Boudoir Studio in Salmon Arm, BC. All humans are welcome here.
I love to listen to each and every story that brings a subject before me. Where they came from, how they got here, where they want to go, their dreams! All of it. Not everyone shares their deepest secrets and I would never ask you to. I am not a counselor, I am not a therapist. What I do strive to be is a friend that provides a safe place where you can explore these feelings and create a visual documentary of sorts. The art we create should speak to and of you. You don’t need to share with me in words your story - just show me. Take that journey in your mind and heart and together we will make art.

Creativity Thrives in Adversity
Recently I had to pause my business to take care of my health. Recovering from a major surgery put a lot of limitations on me physically. I won’t lie, the experience was challenging for me in ways I never anticipated. As a creative, when we are unable to create, it can severely impact our mental health. One thing that I have learned is that Creativity Thrives in Adversity and where there is a will there is a way.

As a creative, when we are unable to create, it can severely impact our mental health. One thing that I have learned is that Creativity Thrives in Adversity and where there is a will there is a way.
We all have perceived limitations because our brains are programmed to working a certain way. We tend to be creatures of habit. So when we are faced with adversity, that prevents us from carrying about tasks in our routine ways our brains can send up red flags and shut down. At least, I know mine does. Once we realize the only limitations we have are those that we set upon ourselves, things get a lot easier.
I love to pick up and my camera and get creative at least once a week. It’s feels like more of a need than a want. Surgery had me laid up in bed for weeks, and I started to doubt myself, my abilities. My brain began to venture to some dark corners it had never explored before and I was desperately looking for a spark of light to help guide me out. I NEEDED to get back into the studio one way or another!
Where to start?
I started by assessing my limitations. Instead of focusing on what I couldn’t do I focused on what I could do. At this point in my journey I was able to sit for short periods of time. So I found a big comfy chair and had it set it in the corner of the studio bedroom. Next was to consider what tools I needed and what I had on hand. I had my canon 5D mark iv, it has wifi abilities. I also had my cell phone that has an app to control my camera remotely. A tripod to hold the camera, and 3 lenses a 35mm, 50mm, and a 135mm. These will help provide more variety.
I chose the back bedroom set in my studio for a couple of reasons. One it has my favourite light. Secondly I felt that by being in a smaller, simple space it helped me and my muse to connect and stay focused.
Creativity thrives in adversity and my creative need outweighed my limitations. I was allowed to think differently on how to utilize my strengths to overcome my current limitations.
To accommodating my physical limitations I remained stationary during these sessions. By doing this I learned a lot about myself as an artist and photographer. It has made me stop and take time with my thought process. It has definitely helped me to grow, and I have a new enthusiasm for my work. I have shown myself that creativity thrives in adversity rather than drown in it. While I likely won’t stop being an acrobat during my sessions, I will slow down and be more present in the moment.
Boudoir Session in Vegas
One of the attendees at last years workshop during WPPI, Evgenia, booked a Boudoir Session in Las Vegas to compliment her experience. I personally believe that being on the other end of the lens is important in the boudoir industry. It allows you to put yourself in your client’s shoes and have a better understanding of what they go through. If you admire another photographer’s work then having them shoot you gives you an inside look into what they do and will help you in your own business.

At the time of her Boudoir Session in Vegas Evgenia was a 40 year old mother of two, and while she was a boudoir photographer herself she had never had the opportunity to be on the other side of the camera. She had decided that now was the time. She admitted while the life had done a number on her body that she was never happier, and doing the session was just icing on the cake.
Evgenia said her biggest fear going is was being a photographer and type A personality. In her words "It gave me fear that I would be thinking and overthinking the session but Jessica was amazing!!! We did so many different settings and angles, my body was aching for a few days. I love how sensual but at the same time still very me the images came out!!!"
When asked how the session made her feel and what her favorite part was Evgenia gave an answer that showed she was an artist. She said she loved every minute of it! Felt so into it and at ease! Her favorite part was experimenting with light, seeing how another person creates their art!
So if you are heading to WPPI this year make sure you take advantage of the Workshops being offered, and if there is someone you admire book your own Boudoir session in Vegas.

Every February in Vegas Photographers come from all over the world to take part in WPPI. It stands for Wedding & Portrait Photographers International. Don't let the name deceive you though all genres of photographers take part. I've heard it said that it's the equivalent of spring break for photographers. So if you're going you should look into booking your own Vegas Boudoir Session.
vegas boudoir session
This is a great time to meet up and network with your peers in the industry, but it is also a great time to hone your skills. One of the ways you can achieve this is to join one of the many workshops offered by many of the professionals who attend. Last year was Jessica's first workshop in Vegas and she is returning this year with a good friend of hers Aroha Mckaig. Together they will be covering subjects such as maximizing your space. This will cover lighting, shooting, and setting up your space plus some portfolio building shoot out time. The second Day of the workshop will cover the topic of Mood & Emotion. In this class you will learn the art of creating images of both sexually suggestive and implied nature. You'll learn how to achieve the emotions to translate your own clients whether the are looking for a sensual or more sexualized style. Jessica's style lends to the more sensual side of the spectrum while Aroha enjoys pushing the boundaries to elude to more sexual undertones. Again this will end with a portfolio building shootout. This year they've booked a beautiful Air B&B for the workshop with plenty of space for shooting and learning. Five lucky attendees will be able to upgrade to the VIP seats. These will include a place to stay at the Air B&B, meals while there, all the classes, and a small group mentoring session where you can pick Jessica and Aroha's brains while relaxing after supper. Workshops are a great place to start your time in Vegas, but there is so much more to do. Between the parties, shootouts, and the fact that it's Vegas you'll be busy the entire time. One of the attendees from last year took her experience with Jessica one step further and booked her own Vegas Boudoir Shoot with Jessica. This allowed to her to see Jessica shoot first hand and she walked away with some amazing images that she will treasure forever. I'll be posting her photos in another post soon to follow. Jessica's make up artist, Ashley of Ashley Paints Faces, wanted her own Vegas Boudoir Session and modelled for the last workshop. The following are some of her images from the workshop and her own session.Written by the Artist Jessica Rae team. xoxo

Boudoir session - Fraser Valley
I think when most people think about booking a boudoir session they plan on making it a gift for the special someone, or to celebrate a milestone of some sort. I often tell people to Celebrate Yourself. When S came in this is exactly what she was doing. Our time together was a lot of fun and there was a lot of shared laughs. We captured some beautiful images she will be able to look back on for years to come as a constant reminder of how sensual she is.
When asked what her biggest fear, going into the boudoir session, was her reply made me smile. “That I wouldn’t get any “sexy” photos. And boy, did we not only overcome my fears, but I got photos and an experience I will cherish for a lifetime!!!”

When a person comes into my studio my goal is always to create the best environment possible so that they not only take away images they will cherish for a lifetime, but memories of our time together that they will hold onto as well. So when someone leaves a review I take it all in so that I can make the next person’s experience that much better. This is what S. had to say about her time with me. “Jessica makes the experience so fun. She is passionate and has a natural eye and ability to capture the moment, even if you think you’re not living it. Jessica also makes you feel at ease, provides amazing guidance and gets you to believe in your beauty and abilities.”
When a client embraces the concept of Celebrate Yourself it almost always leads to them also loving themselves a little more in the end. This is and always has been my goal as a Boudoir photographer. To love yourself you must Celebrate Yourself any chance you get. How you do that is up to you, but might I suggest you start with your own boudoir session

Couple's Boudoir - Abbotsford
When you hear the words couple’s boudoir the picture that pops into most people’s minds is probably an erotic one. Two people intertwined in a passionate embrace sharing each other in every sense of the word. While that is a great way of documenting what you and your partner have together I’d like to show you another perspective. With Jessica’s Intimate couple’s boudoir experience it’s more about the connection, the intimate moments of love, laughing and vulnerability.

When you hear the words couple's boudoir the picture that pops into most people's minds is probably an erotic one. Two people intertwined in a passionate embrace sharing each other in every sense of the word. While that is a great way of documenting what you and your partner have together I'd like to show you another perspective. With Jessica's Intimate couple's boudoir experience it's more about the connection, the intimate moments of love, laughing and vulnerability. It's about getting lost in your partners eyes and connecting with them on a level that you don't always get to share. When you get these still... perfect moments everything around you just seems to fade away. The images captured in those instances are the ones you will take with you. Her unique perspective and artfully edited black and white images will be something that is always treasured. I've had the pleasure of taking part in one of these Intimate couple's boudoir sessions. At first I was probably like most people, shy, awkward, nervous, but with Jessica that soon went away. She gained and kept my trust and while I felt a little silly at first, it didn't take long for the camera to seem to disappear. It is a time, with the love of my life, that I will always hold on to. The first time I saw the images I knew I hadn't been wrong to trust her. It actually made me catch my breath and I couldn't speak at first. I remember thinking, as I looked through our moments, that these images showed how I felt about her better than I ever could express. It's more than documenting what two people share during the act. It's about showing those intimate moments that lead up. The shared laugher and joy of two people who love each other. The anticipation as your partner sits next to you and reaches out. It's the excitement the moments before their lips touch your neck, or feeling your worries melt away as you embrace. In my case Jessica captured the raw moments in such an authentic manner that I could actually see myself being vulnerable in a way I never imagined. I couldn't wait to share it with the world. I would do it again in a heartbeat and highly recommend that everyone should experience an intimate couple's boudoir session at least once in their life. I left looking at myself and my partner with different eyes. Check out my session here If you are a photographer wanting to learn this style of intimate couple's boudoir photography I will be teaching at the second annual Camp Do More next June. Click here for more details. Limited availability. It will be at Camp Timberlane in Haliburton Ontario. (3 hours west of Toronto.) Check out the official camp website.
Boudoir is for Every Woman
Boudoir is for every human.
From the time you walk into the studio until the moment you leave this experience is all about you. Your time will begin with professional hair and make up while we sit and get to know each other. You'll be pampered by the professional hair and make up artist while you sip on a Mimosa and relax.
When it’s all said and done you will agree boudoir is for everyone.
Boudoir is for Every Woman
Everyone comes with their own reasons why they want to do a Intimate lifestyle boudoir session. T wasn't much different from a lot of the reasons I hear. It was initially just a gift for her husband, but as the session progressed she realized it was really more for her. My time with T was a lot of fun. We laughed and talked as the session went on and I watched what little nerves she had at the beginning melt away. In her own words she is a Zero F's kind of person. I'm a firm believer that boudoir is for every woman and T was no exception.
I asked her a few questions after her boudoir session, about her time in my studio, and will share a couple of her responses with you.
Q: Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty / sexuality / sensuality / body confidence as a result of this session?
A: You know what, yes. I think we are all our own worst critics. To see examples in studio of past sessions I realized it's a lot easier to appreciate the beauty in other people flaws and all. I need to look at myself with the same appreciation.
Q: How did the session make you feel?
A: Like a pretty pretty princess just kidding, hot AF. (This made me laugh)
Boudoir isn't just taking pretty pictures. It's about the entire experience, connecting with each person, and creating an environment where they can open up and see themselves for the amazing person they are. Every individual has a different motivation for booking a boudoir session. Whether it's a gift for a partner, a celebration of a milestone, or even just because they want to do something for themselves. If it's this or something else the goal is to make it the most empowering experience possible.
Just remember Boudoir is for every human. From the time you walk into the studio until the moment you leave this experience is all about you. Your time will begin with professional hair and make up while we sit and get to know each other. You'll be pampered by the professional hair and make up artist while you sip on a Mimosa and relax. During the actual shoot you will move around the studio as you are guided through different sets and poses and you will be coached to make it look just right. It's expected that most people will feel unsure in the beginning, as this is normal for almost everyone, but rest assured it gets easier as you go. A couple weeks later you will return to view all of your images and make your product selections. You will again get to sit and relax with a drink and some treats as you relive your experience through viewing the images. When you leave you will agree boudoir is for everyone. I'll be honest, I felt a little awkward at first, I'm sure most people do, but definitely felt relaxed and empowered by the end of the session. My favourite part was seeing the end product! Being a makeup artist, it's different being on the other side side of the lens but so rewarding. The proof is in the pudding. My images are STUNNING and Jessica is the absolute best at capturing feminine sexuality that speaks beauty and class. I just LOVE you, Jessica Rae and I loved my boudoir session!"
Stepping in front of the Lens
Some of you may remember Marecel, she used to be one of my makeup artists! That is, before she got on with the film industry full time. She is one of the most genuinely, sweet people I have had the pleasure to call my friend.
You can imagine how excited I was when she booked herself an intimate lifestyle boudoir session with me and made the move of stepping in front of the lens!
"I've always wanted to do a shoot and since there's a lull in the film industry right now, it was the perfect time! I ADORE Jessica Rae's work and I knew she would capture "my best me"!Though I grew up very conservatively, in my adult life, I am not shy when it comes to my body... but that doesn't me I am always confident or satisfied with how I look. My photographs turned out so amazing and I definitely see a more confident me in them! I'm happy I decided to come out from behind the scenes and took a chance stepping in front of the lens with my own boudoir session.I had no fear or hesitation in booking with Jessica Rae, I have seen her in action before. I experience a lot of emotion when I look at the images she created of us and feel like they accurately show my love for her. Together we are perfectly imperfect and in the end it’s not about looking like a model.
I trusted her with my biggest insecurities and she did not break that trust. I feel closer to her now because of the experience and even love the photographs so much…
Intimate Couples Boudoir
Jessica and I have been together for almost 5 years now. In that time I have become a feminist. I’ve learned that feminism isn’t women against men, that is misandry. (Thank you to Jessica for educating me on this) It’s about realizing that gender does not dictate what you are or are not qualified to do.
I realize that as a man, I personally, am not inherently bad or oppress women. Being a feminist, for me, means realizing that those jokes you don’t mean and are just supposed to be funny are not funny. It’s not funny to break another person down in the name of “just a joke”. Feminism is about equality, plain and simple. To me it’s about treating women with dignity and respect. Jessica is my best friend and partner and I mean that in every sense of the word.
I also learned I have more in common with many of her female clients than I realized. For several years I have watched women come to her studio while I’m outside working in my shop. In almost every case I see the same thing. They show up, usually bundled up in more clothes than necessary for the weather, and kind of hunched in on themselves. It appears that what they are doing is just an experiment and they don’t expect to like and enjoy what’s about to happen because they think they could never look as good as the women they see in Jessica's photographs. In every case, where I have been around to see them come back out, I’ve seen a woman transformed. They have their shoulders back, they are smiling and they radiate confidence. It’s amazing to watch this experience from the outside and to see how, in just a couple hours, they learn to see themselves in a way they didn't before.
When I met Jessica I was in the best shape of my life. I struggled with obesity, most of my life, and had worked hard to shed 100 lbs. But even at that point I would not take my shirt off in public. Like a lot of women I had been shamed into believing I was unattractive and fully believed it. Due to an injury I had to leave the gym and slowly I put the weight back on. I never gained it all back but I have gained enough that my insecurities were now mixed with a sense of shame. In Jessica's eyes the weight didn’t matter and she has asked me, more than once, to do a couples session with her. I have flat out refused for a long time but she has gently persisted.
Yesterday after denying her again, she opened up a dialog about how I’m really no different from those women that walk by me overdressed and huddled in on themselves. She assured me she wanted the photographs for us and wouldn’t share if I wasn’t comfortable. It occurred to me that I expect all these women, who walk passed me, to come out with a new outlook and that they all trust Jessica with something more personal than words can describe.
Jessica is my best friend and the love of my life so why couldn't I give her that same trust. I reluctantly agreed.I can honestly say that at first I felt very uncomfortable displaying my flaws for even just Jessica to see but it quickly became something else. The camera disappeared from my mind and it became about sharing something intimate and freeing with the woman I love.
I experience a lot of emotion when I look at the images she created of us and feel like they accurately show my love for her. Together we are perfectly imperfect and in the end it’s not about looking like a model. I trusted her with my biggest insecurities and she did not break that trust. I feel closer to her now because of the experience and even love the photographs so much that I want to share them with the world. I could believe I could be Overcoming self doubt with Intimate Couple's Boudoir. I would recommend that everyone should try this at least once. It’s not just for women or for men, it’s about celebrating yourself, or in my case my love. -C

Voyage through aging, motherhood and immigration
The most rewarding aspect of my job is creating a safe place for women to celebrate themselves - to find themselves - to reconnect with themselvesxoxox Jessica Rae. Let's explore a Voyage through aging, motherhood and immigration"For me, taking self-portraits are not and have never been about vanity; they signify exploration, questioning and discovery. They take me on voyage through aging, through motherhood, through life as an immigrant, giving back some of the support and respect we all crave.
Taking self-portraits is often seen as vanity, but for me they’ve become a moment to stop and think.
It all started with a bunch of Etsy sellers on Self Portrait Thursdays; we’d snap a selfie, post it on Flickr, and catch up with online friends. Around this time, I was adjusting to being both an older stay-at-home mum and a career-less trailing spouse far away from family and friends. In all the bustle and immersion of parenting, with zero feedback or inspiration from outside work, and days spent in and around family—I lost sight of me until I started putting myself in the picture.
Looking at the portraits made me pause and take a long, hard look at what was happening in my life. I was sad, depressed even; with little external support, it was difficult to imagine how to go forward. The first selfies reflected this, showing how much my body was changing with age, pregnancy and nursing, and how little confidence I had in myself. Frumpy clothes, straggly hair, no individualism, whatever was easiest to pull out of the closet… Little by little I learned what reflected ‘me’ and also how it made me feel –happy, confident, graceful? Rather than just surrendering to it, I started to question what was going well and what was not so good with life.
In addition to the changes in outward appearance, I was also changing inside. Connecting each image with how I felt inspired me to really explore my life, values, ambitions and inspirations, connecting somehow with who I am as an individual and giving me permission to move forward. Gently but critically I took notice. True goofy happiness in photos with my son; sharp confidence in snappy dressing; graceful in celebration of curves, wrinkles and grey; definition and presence with a little mascara and lipstick. Never the pretty child, I found beautiful moments in myself and also in others." - Amanda

Ovarian Issues and Self Worth
"What is your first thought when it comes to boudoir? Yes it can mean wearing fancy lingerie , but it also means celebrating your body. After getting photographed I feel on top of the world . My confidence is through the roof, which for most women , we struggle with feeling sexy. Being a woman who has fought ovarian issues for 3 years, I always have issues seeing my stomach. Knowing where my scars are and seeing the bloating that it has caused I started to hate myself. Then I stepped in front of the lens and it changed everything. I realized that beauty is within, and you see it in every photo Jessica captures. She takes the woman and reminds her of that goddess flame inside you. I don't have to associate Ovarian Issues and Self Worth " -D.
Thank you D for being open and willing to share your story with the world. It is brave woman like you who pave the way for the rest of us.Every woman has a different reason for coming in for a session. What is your reason?

Kate emailed me about doing a boudoir session for herself a few months ago. She is still relatively new to Canada, originally from Germany, and she was feeling a little down and needed a pick me up. A little self confidence boost. I am so glad that she choose an intimate lifestyle photo session with me in order to accomplish this! Here what Kate had to say:"I loved everything! From the make up to the shoot. I loved how friendly Jessica is. We spent a lot of time chatting, she really took the time to get to know me. Her studio is lovely and I really love my pictures."It was a such a pleasure to photograph you, Kate. Thank you for trusting me and for being so open. Garden Patio with Ms.T - Vancouver Canada Boudoir Photographer
Ms. T planned a solo vacation to Vancouver, BC Canada last summer and contacted me to arrange for a boudoir shoot in the AirBnB she rented. I swooned when I saw the location photos. Beautiful natural light and an indoor/outdoor living space. Yes, please!I do not always receive permission to share clients images, and if I do, it isn't always immediately after their session. Often times clients need some time to think on it but I am so thrilled that after a year Ms. T graciously granted me permission to share some of her images. Thank you, you are so beautiful and it was such a delight working with you! Ms. T writes: I wanted to do a boudoir shoot for awhile but I was only familiar with male photographers and that didn't inspire me to get naked. It was important that I feel comfortable but well coached, since I had no idea what the hell I was doing. You guess it, I'm NOT a model. All of Jessica's additional advice on poses and placement were most welcome. Sana (Makeup In Session) cast a spell over my hair and worked magic with my make-up. A million thanks for a wonderful experience. -T
