Men + Boudoir

Boudoir and intimate portraiture isn’t just for women. It is for every body! Regardless how you identify, you deserve to celebrate and embrace your body, beauty and journey. My door is always open. I encourage you to reach out if you feel an intimate portrait session may be something that would help you to tell your story

Male Boudoir

Todd contacted the studio about doing some Male boudoir and explained that he's been on a journey to improve his physical fitness. Boudoir can be many different things. It's not always a pretty picture on a bed or in a tub. Those have their place, but this wasn't it. The vision for this session was easy, just some simple tasteful Fine Art Nudes.

Before the session took place Todd and I met up in person to discuss the ideas for the session. He left excited and when he returned the back bedroom was cleared out of the usual lifestyle set and we were left with studio lights and him. What happened next was ART.

What Todd thought of the experience with Fine Art Nudes

I am so thrilled to have come across Jessica to take photos of me. She is very supportive and understanding. She has a way of getting you to try to push the boundaries of what you think about yourself, your body, and what would make a great picture.

Jessica was able to coax out some poses during the photo shoot that I never would have thought of trying, and they are some of my favorites. She has a unique ability to create poses where you end up looking natural, yet stunning!

When I initially planned on a photo shoot with Jessica, my expectation was to get a few nice pictures to give to my wife as a personal gift. What Jessica created was art that I would be proud to display on the walls of my home for others to enjoy as well. I left her studio thinking wow! The pictures look so incredible people might not even recognize me!

Boudoir is for every BODY!

Something else I feel is worth mentioning in regards to this session is that Todd had reached out to a number of local photographers inquiring about a male boudoir and fine art nude session but was consistently turned away. They all replied with, "Sorry, we only work with women."

Boudoir and intimate portraiture isn't just for women. It is for every body! Regardless how you identify, you deserve to celebrate and embrace your body, beauty and journey. My door is always open. I encourage you to reach out if you feel an intimate portrait session may be something that would help you to tell your story.

Boudoir session - Fraser Valley

I think when most people think about booking a boudoir session they plan on making it a gift for the special someone, or to celebrate a milestone of some sort. I often tell people to Celebrate Yourself. When S came in this is exactly what she was doing. Our time together was a lot of fun and there was a lot of shared laughs. We captured some beautiful images she will be able to look back on for years to come as a constant reminder of how sensual she is.

When asked what her biggest fear, going into the boudoir session, was her reply made me smile. “That I wouldn’t get any “sexy” photos. And boy, did we not only overcome my fears, but I got photos and an experience I will cherish for a lifetime!!!”

Celebrate Yourself

When a person comes into my studio my goal is always to create the best environment possible so that they not only take away images they will cherish for a lifetime, but memories of our time together that they will hold onto as well.  So when someone leaves a review I take it all in so that I can make the next person’s experience that much better.  This is what S. had to say about her time with me. “Jessica makes the experience so fun. She is passionate and has a natural eye and ability to capture the moment, even if you think you’re not living it. Jessica also makes you feel at ease, provides amazing guidance and gets you to believe in your beauty and abilities.”

When a client embraces the concept of Celebrate Yourself it almost always leads to them also loving themselves a little more in the end.  This is and always has been my goal as a Boudoir photographer.  To love yourself you must Celebrate Yourself any chance you get.  How you do that is up to you, but might I suggest you start with your own boudoir session

Dedication Payoff - Vancouver Boudoir Photography

After working hard on her personal health and fitness routine for 16 weeks leading up to her intimate lifestyle photoshoot, Miss N was still feeling nervous. She worried about how to position her body and manage facial expressions... as well as feeling silly. These are common concerns with all my clients. You are not alone!Let's hear firsthand what Miss N had to say about her overall experience. Check out a few of her amazing images from her first session with me below! "All of my worries disappeared with Jessica Rae's expert coaching and calm disposition, and the fact that she obliged me when I preferred more anonymous body pics vs pics with my face! I feel that JR really knew what direction I wanted to go in and honoured it. Looking into her camera and seeing some of the shots she was getting was also helpful and visually informative for me.Being in a safe studio space and working with a female photographer really helped me feel open and comfortable. Also being guided by Jessica Rae during the session, in terms of how to hold and position my body, was very helpful. After the shoot I felt very proud and invigorated by the overall experience, and was so happy that I was able to document my best shape in such an artistic and classy way - in addition to really pushing myself outside my comfort zone and trying something new and exciting. After the session I felt like a model - lol! Overall liberated, scared, and excited! The most significant feelings of pride and awe though came from sitting with Jessica Rae and my husband post shoot and seeing the INCREDIBLE photos of me she presented to us!"

I would say this experience was remarkable!  Worth every minute and penny. I've never looked so good!

Can't wait for session #2 hopefully a couples session... also looking forward to ordering a metal estate art piece." Vancouver Intimate Lifestyle Photographer Vancouver Boudoir Photographer Boudoir Photographer Vancouver Vancouver Intimate Lifestyle Boudoir Photographer Boudoir Fitness Photoshoot Vancouver Intimate Lifestyle Portrait Photographer Vancouver Vancouver Boudoir Studio Boudoir Studio Near Vancouver Boudoir Photographers Near Vancouver Boudoir Photographer Near Vancouver

Ovarian Issues and Self Worth

"What is your first thought when it comes to boudoir? Yes it can mean wearing fancy lingerie , but it also means celebrating your body. After getting photographed I feel on top of the world . My confidence is through the roof, which for most women , we struggle with feeling sexy. Being a woman who has fought ovarian issues for 3 years, I always have issues seeing my stomach. Knowing where my scars are and seeing the bloating that it has caused I started to hate myself. Then I stepped in front of the lens and it changed everything. I realized that beauty is within, and you see it in every photo Jessica captures. She takes the woman and reminds her of that goddess flame inside you. I don't have to associate Ovarian Issues and Self Worth " -D.

Thank you D for being open and willing to share your story with the world. It is brave woman like you who pave the way for the rest of us.Every woman has a different reason for coming in for a session. What is your reason?

Kate emailed me about doing a boudoir session for herself a few months ago. She is still relatively new to Canada, originally from Germany, and she was feeling a little down and needed a pick me up. A little self confidence boost. Anniversary Boudoir Gift - Fraser Valley Photographer

Here is what Ms. C had to say about her experience:" I had a fantastic experience with Jessica. This was my first Boudoir photoshoot and I was nervous at first. I didn't know what to do with my arms. Jessica put me at ease and offered great direction. I ended up having a lot of fun, from make up, to wardrobe changes, to the very last shot. I walked away from the shoot feeling more confident, refreshed and as though I had just done a really good work out. (Without the cleanup)The pictures are beautiful and Jessica was very accommodating with the layout of the album. The final product is an anniversary gift for my husband, but I know that I will cherish the experience and gorgeous shots of myself. Thank you"

Celebrating Love - Couples Photo Session - Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Photographer

I think it’s rather important to celebrate your relationship with one another throughout all the stages your relationship may end up going through. Finding someone who makes your life more fulfilling is the best thing in life. I used to think finding someone to complete you was the right mindset. When really it’s about finding someone you can call your best friend, someone who improves the quality of your life by supporting your dreams and aspirations. Someone who will push you to achieve things you didn’t know you were capable of because of self-doubt. You should complete yourself on your own but your partner should bring out the part of you deep down you didn’t know was there. When you find that person you start to understand really what “Home is where the heart is” means. When you are around the person you love dearly, you are home. So, why is it that we only get photos done together with our partners when we are getting engaged or married? Life is precious and that fact alone should be acknowledged. I think getting photos done to celebrate your relationship together is an amazing thing. I now have physical, beautiful, and meaningful pictures I can look at that matches how I feel inside. Working with Jessica Rae was comfortable and overall fun. Jessica was even was able to coach us through the jitters of expressing our love for each other and it not come off as we were aware there was a camera there with us. She made us both feel comfortable in front of the lens and produced amazing images that both of us can and will enjoy for years to come.- Jessica Dawn.Hair and Makeup:  Ashley Paints FacesCelebrating Love Couples Portrait Photography with Artist Jessica Rae Fraser Valley BC CanadaCelebrating Love Couples Portrait Photography with Artist Jessica Rae Fraser Valley BC CanadaCelebrating Love Couples Portrait Photography with Artist Jessica Rae Fraser Valley BC CanadaCelebrating Love Couples Portrait Photography with Artist Jessica Rae Fraser Valley BC CanadaCelebrating Love Couples Portrait Photography with Artist Jessica Rae Fraser Valley BC CanadaCelebrating Love Couples Portrait Photography with Artist Jessica Rae Fraser Valley BC CanadaCelebrating Love Couples Portrait Photography with Artist Jessica Rae Fraser Valley BC CanadaCelebrating Love Couples Portrait Photography with Artist Jessica Rae Fraser Valley BC CanadaCelebrating Love Couples Portrait Photography with Artist Jessica Rae Fraser Valley BC CanadaCelebrating Love Couples Portrait Photography with Artist Jessica Rae Fraser Valley BC CanadaCelebrating Love Couples Portrait Photography with Artist Jessica Rae Fraser Valley BC CanadaCelebrating Love Couples Portrait Photography with Artist Jessica Rae Fraser Valley BC CanadaCelebrating Love Couples Portrait Photography with Artist Jessica Rae Fraser Valley BC CanadaCelebrating Love Couples Portrait Photography with Artist Jessica Rae Fraser Valley BC CanadaCelebrating Love Couples Portrait Photography with Artist Jessica Rae Fraser Valley BC Canada

I have struggled with whether or not to even make a post about this - as vague as it may be, because any energy I give the situation, I feel, only gives it more power. HOWEVER, I also believe that we cannot help each other in silence and that we must talk about it.It is extremely difficult to escape your abuser when you share children with them, as you cannot simply cut ties with them. They always look for ways to maintain their sense of control over you, no matter how slight.#MaybeHeDoesntHitMe  - have you seen this hashtag making its rounds on the interweb. 'Maybe He Doesn't Hit You' Twitter Hashtag Reminds Us That Intimate Partner Violence Isn't Always PhysicalWhen my ex sent a nasty email to me (not the first, and surely not the last), after a recent afternoon visit with our children, my heart broke. His words did not wound me in the way he had hoped, I'm sure, but it impacted me none the less. Did I take his insults personally? No. Rather my heart ached for our children. I cried because, a man like him, is their father. When I discussed with my children how their day was with their dad, they looked solemn. I find out that their father had gone on at length, insulting me, their mother, to our children.Children are comprised of two things.... their mother and their father. They share the DNA of both. So when you put down, insult or make light of one of their parents, you are in essence doing the same to said child. They take it personally, and why wouldn't they?! They not only love their parent, but they are a physical part of that parent.Rather than let his words burn me though, I have chosen to use it as fuel for my own fire. You only make me stronger.Self Love. Self Respect.xoxox Jessica RaePS: If you, or someone you know, believe you may be experiencing domestic abuse  I highly recommend THIS BOOK, by Lundy Bancroft.  If you are in immediate danger please call 911, contact your local women's shelter. <3Doing an intimate portrait session can help you to reconnect to yourself. Posing with a Disability: Introducing the Queer, Curved and Crippled Male Model - Vancouver Boudoir Photographer

I was introduced to Andrew Gurza through a friend on facebook. He was going to be visiting Vancouver and was  looking for a photographer; it didn't take much to convince me that I needed to meet Andrew in person and capture his story. This man is going to move mountains, if you don't know him yet,  you will soon. His voice is strong and true when it comes to his advocacy of the queer disabled community. He will not be silenced. I am proud and honoured to now call this man my friend. Please go check out the work he is doing over at Deliciously Disabled  xoxox Jessica Rae

Posing with a Disability: Introducing the Queer, Curved and Crippled Male Model

Pictures have always been really important to me. I have always loved what it is that they represent. When you take a picture, you capture a moment in time. Not only do you capture the image, but if you look closely enough at the subject, you might actually be able to see what they were feeling as well. For myself, as a man with physical disabilities, the idea of taking a picture holds real power. When I take a picture, I want to show the world that I am in a wheelchair, that I am proud of it, and that I own that part of my reality. Each and every time the camera shutter clicks I want the viewer to know that my disability is right by my side, and won’t be ignored. In my work as a Disability Awareness Consultant, making disability accessible to the queer community via Deliciously Disabled, I have happily volunteered to take many a picture of myself. I did this, always, to ensure that Queers with Disabilities were somehow represented in queer media outlets. I loved these opportunities for a few reasons: 1) I love attention (no shame in that, right?) and 2) I finally got to see myself. For so many years I have begged, fought and clawed for representation and just to be noticed by my community, often feeling invisible in it. These pictures would help me change that, and show others in my position that they had a place too.I had gotten used to these photo shoots being done with just myself and the photographer – the two of us spending time working together to make me and my disability shine for the cameras. I was comfortable taking up this space on my own – there is an unmistakable power when you are the only sexy, seated and disabled guy in the room – and I jumped on it. Recently, I was given the opportunity to work alongside another model. I remember when I was asked, after the excitement of being professionally photographed had subsided (fame-whore, remember?), I was scared. I was immediately concerned about my body, and whether or not this model would be comfortable working with my unique body and me. My body that curved and contorted, that was seated and spastic and scarred. I started to worry how I would look next to him. I envisioned that he would look all sexy and suave, and I, try as hard as I might, would not. The camera would capture his beautiful body, and all the camera would see of me, was my cripple. I started to wonder if I could even go through with it. The day came. The first couple of shots were of me alone -- fun, relaxed, and easy. I smiled and laughed, the photographer putting me at ease. When those were done, it was time for me to be with the other model. I was excited because he was so sweet, but I also felt that pang of self-doubt. We both took off our clothes, and got in the position for the shot. At first, I didn’t dare move. I wanted him to call the shots, and I remember feeling that whatever I did, I had to make sure that my disability didn’t distract him. Here I was lying next to this model, I couldn’t be all disabled about it? Slowly though, we got comfortable with each other, and I was so happy he was with me. In those moments, I got to introduce him to my disability, and show him what being deliciously disabled is actually all about. He got to hold my spastic hands, nuzzle himself in the contours of my cripple canvas, and realize that I broke all the molds. As the camera shuttered on and off around us, I felt a sense of bliss come over me. I couldn’t stop smiling because I knew that when these images were developed, they would capture something important. They would show the world two very different men, one able, one not, lying together in happiness. They would show the world that the male form, no matter how it is configured, is a beautiful creation. Lastly, if you were to look really close at these pictures, you might see what I was feeling – I was both happy to show myself, my truth, to someone, and even happier that he actually saw me for the queer, curved, crippled man I am. - Andrew GurzaPublished in Vol 7 of Philosophie Boudoir MagazineThank you to Chad Walters aka LifeAsChad for joining me on this session and taking it to a whole new level xoxox**This post contains nudity Artist Jessica Rae with Andrew Gurza of Deliciously Disabled and Chad Walters Vancouver Boudoir Photography Gay Queer DisabledArtist Jessica Rae with Andrew Gurza of Deliciously Disabled and Chad Walters Vancouver Boudoir Photography Gay Queer DisabledArtist Jessica Rae with Andrew Gurza of Deliciously Disabled and Chad Walters Vancouver Boudoir Photography Gay Queer DisabledArtist Jessica Rae with Andrew Gurza of Deliciously Disabled and Chad Walters Vancouver Boudoir Photography Gay Queer DisabledArtist Jessica Rae with Andrew Gurza of Deliciously Disabled and Chad Walters Vancouver Boudoir Photography Gay Queer DisabledArtist Jessica Rae with Andrew Gurza of Deliciously Disabled and Chad Walters Vancouver Boudoir Photography Gay Queer DisabledArtist Jessica Rae with Andrew Gurza of Deliciously Disabled and Chad Walters Vancouver Boudoir Photography Gay Queer DisabledArtist Jessica Rae with Andrew Gurza of Deliciously Disabled and Chad Walters Vancouver Boudoir Photography Gay Queer DisabledArtist Jessica Rae with Andrew Gurza of Deliciously Disabled and Chad Walters Vancouver Boudoir Photography Gay Queer DisabledArtist Jessica Rae with Andrew Gurza of Deliciously Disabled and Chad Walters Vancouver Boudoir Photography Gay Queer DisabledArtist Jessica Rae with Andrew Gurza of Deliciously Disabled and Chad Walters Vancouver Boudoir Photography Gay Queer DisabledArtist Jessica Rae with Andrew Gurza of Deliciously Disabled and Chad Walters Vancouver Boudoir Photography Gay Queer DisabledArtist Jessica Rae with Andrew Gurza of Deliciously Disabled and Chad Walters Vancouver Boudoir Photography Gay Queer Disabled

Victorian Boudoir : Gilded Magazine : Vancouver Published Editorial Boudoir Photographer

At the beginning of December I was playing around with new studio setups and  fell in love with this one so much that I put together a team right away and the next day this session happened. Sometimes the best laid plans aren't plans at all but whims of fancy! I partner up with one my of my favourite designers Charlene Rowley of Faye Tality Couture, she had the most amazing pieces to pull off the look I was aiming for. Fellow Maple Ridge photographer, Tanzyn Ambrose graciously agreed to be my muse for this set and she got all glammed up by the talented Makeup in Session's, Sana Nurani. I am so blessed to call all of these amazing women friends, and that they go along with my mad ideas <3These images  have been featured in Gilded Magazines issue 7 vol 2 edition. Victoria Boudoir - Gilded Magazine - Jessica Rae, Faye Tality Couture, MakeupinSession, Tanzyn Published Dec 2015Victoria Boudoir - Gilded Magazine - Jessica Rae, Faye Tality Couture, MakeupinSession, Tanzyn Published Dec 2015Victoria Boudoir - Gilded Magazine - Jessica Rae, Faye Tality Couture, MakeupinSession, Tanzyn Published Dec 2015Victoria Boudoir - Gilded Magazine - Jessica Rae, Faye Tality Couture, MakeupinSession, Tanzyn Published Dec 2015Victoria Boudoir - Gilded Magazine - Jessica Rae, Faye Tality Couture, MakeupinSession, Tanzyn Published Dec 2015Victoria Boudoir - Gilded Magazine - Jessica Rae, Faye Tality Couture, MakeupinSession, Tanzyn Published Dec 2015Victoria Boudoir - Gilded Magazine - Jessica Rae, Faye Tality Couture, MakeupinSession, Tanzyn Published Dec 2015Victoria Boudoir - Gilded Magazine - Jessica Rae, Faye Tality Couture, MakeupinSession, Tanzyn Published Dec 2015Victoria Boudoir - Gilded Magazine - Jessica Rae, Faye Tality Couture, MakeupinSession, Tanzyn Published Dec 2015Victoria Boudoir - Gilded Magazine - Jessica Rae, Faye Tality Couture, MakeupinSession, Tanzyn Published Dec 2015Victoria Boudoir - Gilded Magazine - Jessica Rae, Faye Tality Couture, MakeupinSession, Tanzyn Published Dec 2015Victoria Boudoir - Gilded Magazine - Jessica Rae, Faye Tality Couture, MakeupinSession, Tanzyn Published Dec 2015Victoria Boudoir - Gilded Magazine - Jessica Rae, Faye Tality Couture, MakeupinSession, Tanzyn Published Dec 2015Victoria Boudoir - Gilded Magazine - Jessica Rae, Faye Tality Couture, MakeupinSession, Tanzyn Published Dec 2015Victoria Boudoir - Gilded Magazine - Jessica Rae, Faye Tality Couture, MakeupinSession, Tanzyn Published Dec 2015

When you surround yourself with creative people, anything is possible. I conceived this shoot idea late on a Tuesday night, on Wednesday I contacted a local clothing designer, Faye Tality Couture and arranged for a hair stylist and models, on Thursday we did the photo shoot. Nothing like a last minute concept brought to life, but it all came together effortlessly! Now you pair that with the fact we got published in one of my favourite arts magazines..... perfection! You can purchase a digital or hardcopy of Giuseppina Magazine Issue #33 HEREWardrobe and Stylist: Faye Tality CoutureHair Styling: Marecel DanielMakeup: Dream Clean MakeupModels: Dane Halo & Saryn McKenney

Miss O : Chronic Illness and the journey to a Healthy Happy place : Fraser Valley Boudoir Photography

What Miss. O had to say about her session with Boudoir By Jessica Rae and why she chose to do a boudoir session..."I've always been body conscious growing up, it's one of the many reasons I used to exercise daily and restrict my diet, and everything was going well up until about 6 months ago. All of the sudden I was loosing weight rapidly, at first I thought it was because of my diet and my exercise regimens so I thought nothing of it. As the month progressed my diet got worse and I found myself craving sugary foods and becoming so thirsty I couldn't sleep at night, all while loosing weight continuously. It got to the point that I had gone from a healthy diet and weight of 125 to 90 pounds and dropping while eating nothing but ice cream, chips, and anything sweet I could get my hands on. Eventually this led me to the emergency room with a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes. After regaining my health and balancing out my body levels I gained the weight back rapidly, going from 90 pounds of bones to 140 pounds and bloated. The rapid weight loss and even faster weight retention cause my body to change, I didn't even recognize myself in the mirror. Not only did I have this chronic illness to deal with for the rest of my life, not to mention injecting myself two to three times a day, but now I had to deal with the emotional implications of what it had done to the way I looked. Over the few months that followed I slowly evened out and decided it was time to take back my body and feel good about myself again. This is when I contacted Jessica Rae, I saw her work through a friend and the beauty of the shots along with the kind and comforting responses showed me I was in good hands. The shoot was wonderful and fun, I felt inspired and beautiful again and I left so excited and ready to do many more! When I returned with a friend to view the photos and pick my favourites I was blown away at my images, I never thought I could look like that and I actually had a difficult time deciding which to pick, something I never do regularly as generally I hate photos of myself.Jessica Rae was incredibly sweet and gentle with a wonderful sense of humour and this experience gave me back my confidence and let me feel comfortable in my own skin again. Boudoir is not an experience just for someone else, it is all about your own feelings and the power it gives you. Given the opportunity I would do it again in a heartbeat."  Miss. OReading her words gave me goosebumps. I am honoured and thrilled to be a positive part of her journey to being healthy, happy and positive <3 Thank you for sharing your story with us and thank you for allowing me to share your stunning images <3  xoxoxoHair and Makeup by Marecel Daniel Fraser Valley Boudoir Photographer Diabetes Health JourneyFraser Valley Boudoir Photographer Diabetes Health JourneyFraser Valley Boudoir Photographer Diabetes Health JourneyFraser Valley Boudoir Photographer Diabetes Health JourneyFraser Valley Boudoir Photographer Diabetes Health JourneyFraser Valley Boudoir Photographer Diabetes Health JourneyFraser Valley Boudoir Photographer Diabetes Health JourneyFraser Valley Boudoir Photographer Diabetes Health JourneyFraser Valley Boudoir Photographer Diabetes Health JourneyFraser Valley Boudoir Photographer Diabetes Health JourneyFraser Valley Boudoir Photographer Diabetes Health JourneyFraser Valley Boudoir Photographer Diabetes Health JourneyFraser Valley Boudoir Photographer Diabetes Health JourneyFraser Valley Boudoir Photographer Diabetes Health Journey

Published - PHILOSOPHIE Boudoir Magazine AIBP

I set out a goal this year to get published. Why?... why not?!  Seeing your work in print and being able to share it with others is an incredible thing. But when it's in a magazine put out by and filled with your peers - that's on a whole other level. I am so honoured to have my work be chosen as a feature, no less! The article that accompanies my images is a must read. ALTERED EGO -  How embracing alter egos with boudoir can alter our predominant ego, for the better. So a big thank to you AIBP ( Association of International Boudoir Photographers )and all the wonderful people who volunteer their time to put together this amazing magazine. You really outdid yourselves this time - you don't have to take my word for it though. Get your copy now! Here are few images from the set that you won't see in PHILOSOPHIE Magazine.
